Torvald Toren是他那个时代最著名的瑞典风琴演奏家之一。他演奏了大量的管风琴曲目，被认为是法国浪漫主义交响管风琴音乐最重要的演奏家之一。他曾就读于斯德哥尔摩皇家音乐学院，与Stina Sundell一起演奏，与Gotthard Arner一起进行管风琴演奏。他获得了两种乐器的独奏研究生学位。1983年到2001年，他在皇家音乐学院担任管风琴教授。他制作了许多无线电广播唱片和大约20张唱片，例如巴赫的三重奏奏鸣曲、弗兰克和杜鲁勒的全套管风琴作品以及维恩的六首交响曲。
